About Rishikesh

Panchkarma - As the name suggests, ‘Panch’ in Sanskrit stands for five and karma are the therapeutic measures, therefore Panchkarma means five types of therapeutic measures. These are undertaken for the purification of the body and ayurveda consideres it necessary before the start of any other therapy . In fact, most of the time, Panchkarma is an end in it self rather than a prelude to other therapeutic measures. The purpose of Panchakarma is the detoxification or purification of the whole body. Basically, Panchakarma is a procedure that restores the balance in the physiology through cleaning the body from toxins and undigested residues, technically called Ama in Ayurveda, that accumulate in the body channels through unnatural or harmful life habits or contaminated food and air. Prevents the recurrence of the disease and makes the body healthier. Brings order in digestive system affected by irregular food habits and improves metabolism. Reverses biological age. Provides luster to the skin.

Ganga Aarti Ceremony – Aarti is held each day at sunrise and sunset, is sublimely sacred and the enthusiasm of the attendants can be felt deep within. Aarti is a beautiful ceremony on the banks of ganga where diya (oil lamps) are offered to God, who is the “ remover of pain”. This is beautiful because there is nothing inherent in the name of ceremony that says which form or name of God it should be performed to. It should be performed to the Devine Remover of Pain in our Lives.
